Geocache Description:

This is my very fist cach drop and im so excited to have placed it. I have included a few small swaps. This building has been known as many things....  a water tower, a railway viewpoint and even a witches house!

Thanx to bit of help I was able to find out the true details of this lovely building... The tower was built circa 1920 to serve the Stirling Avenue district heating system. The chimney, demolished in the mid 1970s, stood at Wishart Street. The architect was David William Baxter (1874 – 1957) a great great grandson of George Baxter, one of the Baxter Brothers, linen manufacturers, ( or “Jute Barons,” being the local term given to mill owners) who owned the Dens Works. David Baxter completed his school education at the newly opened Morgan Academy, right opposite Baxter Park, which his relatives Sir David Baxter, and his sisters, donated £50,000 for its construction in 1859. The structure is a listed building, and the recently formed "Friends of Dundee Law" have it in their sights for environmental improvements.
