Geocache Description:

ENG Small container with a logbook and a pencil. Original location of the cache has been changed until the construction is done. To get the best view of the city, do get up on the bridge. It's worth it.

ENG Vanšu bridge is one of the five bridges that crosses river Daugava in Riga. It connects Valdemāra street with Kalnciema street. It was opened to public on 21st July in 1981 with a different name - Gorkija bridge (because of the Soviet union times here) The bridge is 560m long, 2 km counting all the exits and roads connecting to the bridge. It was projected in Kiev.

Few years ago the bridge was a very popular place for self-proclaimed pro climbers ('drunk dudes' as you may call them). Some made it to the top, some got stuck in the middle, but it was always a pain in the ass for drivers as the bridge would get closed due to the cilmbers. Now the safety has improved and I can't really remember the last climber.

The view from the bridge is spectacular in all the directions - you can see the old town, other bridges, the harbor, the National library etc. Sunsets and sunrises are the best, so I recommend to visit the cache either just before the dark, or early in the morning.

And please, be so kind and after logging the cache, put the container right where you found it. There have been numerous of cases where I've checked up on the cache and it has been placed not where it's supposed to be. Thanks in advance

Cache is a small container with logbook inside.
