It is more than likely that services have been held at Sackville Reach since the 1820s, however it is not known exactly when the first church was built despite the plaque in the cemetery stating 1833. What is known is that a wooden church constructed adjacent to the cemetery was washed away by the flood of 1867, along with the Wesleyan church on the opposite side of the river, local residents rallied together and funded the building of two new churches. A ceremony was performed for the laying of the foundation stone on 4 January 1870, with the new church being built above the level of the great flood on land donated by Stephen Tuckerman. Services were held in the new church from February 1871 with a consecration ceremony performed on 11 September 1874.

Parishioner numbers declined to the point that services were discontinued in 1852. After several idol years, services again recommenced after a proposal to remove and relocate the church to Cremorne was opposed by the locals in 1958. Tragedy struck again in August 1959 when sparks from a nearby paddock burn landed on the wooden shingle roof and the church caught on fire. Despite the efforts of locals, they were only able to save the cedar pews. Restoration work was carried out and included a new corrugated iron roof. Work was completed the following year and culminated in a dedication service which was held on 5 June 1960.

Congregation numbers dwindled in the 1980s and the church eventually closed. The Anglican Church put the property on the market in 2001 and it was sold into private ownership and is currently used by the Korean Presbyterian Church for services. The stone church of St Thomas remains today just above the cache location and is now known as the Sarang Church.

For the EG-Q#25 Final Puzzle, what is the highest number (single digit) that appears on the front of the letterbox at this location?
