Blackcliff Wood Camp is the remains of a Silure Iron Age hillfort near Tintern in Sir Fynwy (Monmouthshire), South Wales. It is on the route of the Wye Valley Walk. The approach from Tintern is along some rocky tracks and then across farmland before entering Blackcliff Woods where the remains of the hillfort rise up in front of you. From Wyndcliffe at the southern end there is a walk along a mixture of woodland tracks through woods and along cliff edges before reaching the hillfort.
The cache itself is outside the bounds of the hillfort which is a scheduled ancient monument. It is, however, within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, placed with the kind permission of Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru (Natural Resources Wales). It is not far off the Wye Valley Walk, so, for obvious reasons, please don't search too far off the path or on top of the hillfort itself.
