Geocache Description:

Simple to find.  Puzzle to open

Fun facts about Bluebirds: Bluebirds are New York's state bird. All bluebirds are cavity nesters and will use an artificial nest box. Habitat and nest cavities had been disappearing for many years, but bluebirds have made an incredible come back due to thousands of bluebird nest boxes being installed across the country. Bluebirds are a passerine or perching bird but normally I leave the perch off to make the box more secure from predators. This box is not a good example because of the added perch but as I knew that no bluebird could use this box. Adult Bluebirds tend to return to the same breeding territory year after year, but only a small percentage (three to five percent) of young birds return to where they hatched. Bluebirds love mealworms and can be drawn in with a small dish filled with mealworms. Bluebirds are typically seen as a symbol for happiness. “Mr. Bluebird’s on my shoulder!” I have been fortunate enough after many years to attract bluebirds, maybe you will see one. Enjoy, -Flapjack
