Rossall Point Tower can be found on the outer promenade at Fleetwood, clearly visible and watching over the beach.
It can be accessed via a path from Princess Parade or from the Rossall Point car park and nearby play area - the postcode is FY7 8PG. Looking at local landmarks, it's at the right hand side of Fleetwood golf course, and not far from the Sea Cadet base.
The building is designed to look as if it's leaning into the wind, and stands 42 feet above the seafront. It replaces the old Coastguard Tower, the bottom section of which became the toilet block and Waterfront Rangers office at the right hand side of the new building.
You can go in the Tower and have a look - at the building and at the view. There are three floors inside, accessed by a steel staircase which climbs through the open centre of the building. They use the second floor of the building, to keep watch over the beaches, sea and out into Morecambe Bay.
You can go to the very top of the building to stand on the open top floor balcony, and take in the stunning views up and down the coast. It's well worth a climb!
Congrats to tony1x1 and JenJ57 for their joint FTF
