Geocache Description:

A decent sized cache placed between either carriageway of the Birch Service Station, between J18 and J19 of the M62, ideally placed to drop your trackables and send them on their way.

Please adhere to the "House Rules" 😉

congratulations to Rezidnt for their FTF ! 😃

Welcome to Floydsdad's Travel Bug and Geocoin Hotel.

House Rules.

1. Please take the time to have a look at the 'goal' for a trackable before you take it, to ensure you can help it achieve the goals the owner set.

2. Please update the logs for any trackables you take, so the owners can keep track of their progress.

3. Once you've dropped off your guests, or picked up your travellers, please take a second or two just to check that the cache goes back nice and snug, is secured as you found it , and that the cammo is all in place.

Thank you 😀

I love the concept of trackables within geocaching, some of the adventures these little trinkets go on are amazing. I own a couple myself, and it's great to see them travelling around. I've seen a few of these 'hotels' as I've been scouring the site, and having had plenty of "trackable angst" over the last few weeks, I thought I'd try my hand at setting up one local to me, and I thought that Birch Services would be an ideal location. The services are situated between J19 and J18 of the M62, which runs from Liverpool to Hull, with J18 being the link to the M60 ring road with its easy access to the M56 and Manchester Airport. So if you own, or collect a trackable that wants to ratchet up some miles, or to escape these shores, (and let's face it who doesn't!) then this is the ideal place to drop them off.

The cache is a traditional Floydsdad style cache, a little bigger than usual, plenty of room for the guests ! 😉 All hand crafted , (5 hours this one took !).

Parking isn't an issue, park on either carriageway of the services as your passing through, and it's a 2 minute walk, or you can exit either side of the services via the service road (ignore the no-entry signs, they're just for show !) and park right by the cache location which is on Whittle Lane.

I'm sure like me , most trackable owners would love to see a picture of their little buddy as it went on its merry way, so the more you can take the better!

Having visited several caches in recent days trying to source the guests for the grand opening, I can tell you first hand how frustrating it is to find a cache claiming to contain a trackable, being empty. So please can I repeat that all important house rule. If you drop off or take a trackable, please log it on the cache page, and update the trackable page so the owners can keep a track of where their charges are.

Thanks ! And Bon Voyage one and all !

Cheers ! FD 😀🍺
