Peabody River King State Fish and Wildlife Area is a 2,220-acre former coalmine site that now features fishing lakes, a waterfowl refuge and hunting areas. Site hours are from 6am-9pm.
The search for this cache will take you to the top of one of the highest ridges in Peabody, with a good view of the surrounding area. The hike to this location is not easy and will require a medium hike down a service road, a decent amount of bushwhacking and hill climbing. The cache is located within the hunting section of the wildlife area, so be sure to take proper precautions during season. The cache has been placed with the site director’s permission, so please make sure to follow all of the site’s rules and regulations.
