Lake Akkeshi and Bekanbeushi wetland are registered under the Ramsar Converntion, and, are winter home of swans. Akkeshi waterfowl observatory center, that is located along route 44, has an exhibit room and lecture room on the first floor, and observatory room on the second floor.
Many kinds of birds are seen there, such as swans, cranes, eagles, and ducks. The difficulty of reaching the GZ is depend on the season. It is the most difficult in summer. Also, in winter. It is easy in spring and autumn relatively. Please bring your pen.
厚岸湖・別寒辺牛湿原はラムサール条約登録湿地で水鳥の飛来地でもあります。国道４４号線沿いにある厚岸水鳥観察館の一階には展示室とレクチャールームがあり、二階には観察コーナーが設置されています。オオハクチョウ、タンチョウ、オジロワシ、オオワシや多くのカモ類が生息しています。キャッシュへのアプローチは季節によっては非常に困難になるでしょう。できれば、晩秋から春はじめが良いと思います。ゆったりとした湿原の川をカヌーで遊ぶのも良いでしょう。カヌーは５月から１０月まで楽しむことができますが、野鳥の保護のために乗り入れの制限をしています。詳しくは厚岸水鳥観察館にお問合せください。筆記具を持参ください。
