As far back as I can remember I'd always wanted to be a nurse and I came to Sheffield when I was 16 to follow that dream. I lived in a couple of nurses homes and worked in several hospitals that are now no longer there.
When I first arrived in Sheffield I lived in the nurses home at Lodge Moor hospital
and I worked in many hospitals, including King Edward VII Orthopaedic Hospital
and Nether Edge Hospital.
Then during my nurse training I worked at more bygone hospitals...
Thornbury Annexe (annexe of the Children's Hospital),
Jessop's Hospital for Women,
the Royal Infirmary,
Fulwood Annexe (annexe of the Royal Hospital)
and the Royal Hospital.
Most of my training was at the Royal Hospital, I was there when I qualified as a State Registered Nurse and I got my first Sister's post there so I have many fond memories.
