Geocache Description:

Sir Isaac Newton was known as a philosopher. However there is nothing philosophical about this.

It is a simple cache hidden nearby.

Sir Isaac Newton 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1726. According to the Julian calendar, which was in use at the time in England, he was born on Christmas Day. His birth would have been a sad time for his mother as he was born three months after the death of his father. This would not have been an easy beginning to his life.

He was a small child. His mother reportedly said that he could have fit inside a quart mug.

Young Isaac, at the age of three, was left in the care of his maternal grandmother when his mother remarried and went to live with her new husband.

Isaac was a rebellious child. Making threats to burn the house over his mother and step-father.

During his early teens Isaac went to school and learnt Latin, however he was removed in his later teens due to behavioral issues.

It was not until he was 19 that he became serious about his studies and went to Trinity College, Cambridge, paying his way by performing valet's duties He went on to earn his M.A. degree. In 1665, he discovered the generalised binomial theorem and began to develop a mathematical theory that later became calculus. Soon after Newton had obtained his B.A. degree.
