Thirty-three years ago we honeymooned in Japan and spent two-plus months traveling through three of the four main islands. While on the northern island of Hokkaido we met a student who was enthusiastic about practicing his English with us--and in the process, he told us about various places on his home island to visit. One such place was a "secret mystery lake" (possibly Lake Mashu, but that's just a guess at this remove). We loved that phrase, and since then we've often joked about secret-mystery this and thats. Well, herewith: a Secret Mystery cache on a beautiful but little-known trail off General Jim Moore Blvd. BYOP.
