Geocache Description:

This is a Geocaching Tutorial for my Padawans.

This is Master Kenobi’s Geocaching Guide for Beginning Padawans. This series is made as an introduction to Geocaching this guide will introduce you to the different types of geocaches and their containers. If you have questions Use The Force, search out with your feelings and you can ask me in person.

Remember to be safe. You should always have an adult with you when you go out geocaching.

Always watch for muggles. Muggles are people who will throw away or destroy a geocache. One way to deal with muggles is to walk with a purpose, get the cache , walk away, or get in a car and sign your log. Qucikly walk back and put the cache back. The more you hang around the GZ (Ground Zero) the more likely you are to be caught by a muggle.

Don’t forget to BYOP (Bring Your Own Pen).

Remember if there are any little toys in any of the containers you cannot take one without leaving one. Record your swaps in the log you submit online. If you don’t have something to trade, you can probably go to the $1 store or buy something in a gumball machine and return to swap it later. You can always add a note.

If you ever run into a toy with a dog tag attached, it’s a travel bug. You can take it to another cache, or just write a note saying you spotted it, but it isn’t for trading or keeping, it must move on to it’s destination.

Homework: look through some of the terms in the Geocaching Glossary of Terms.

Remember to TFTC or TFTH

This first cache is a very tricky container that is very powerful. It is sleek and elegant and weathered to match it’s environment. This container is only large enough for a log.
