Tom didn't just get his inspiration from park. Tom drew inspiration from all around him, even close to home in Leith on Georgian Bay. Reportedly it wasn't until he was 35 that Tom started to explore other parts of the bay. He stayed with his friend Dr. MaCCallum at Go Home Bay. He paddled from there back to the park doing sketches along the way in Parry Sound, Byng Inlet and the French River. Its hard to imagine Tom Thomson having the time to produce such amazing art when he clearly spent a great deal of time paddling!
