Scouting America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. Scouting provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. For over a century, the Scouts have helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. Scouting America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
Mountaineer Area Council serves Scouts and Scouters in twenty-two counties in North Central West Virginia and Ohio. The council has units for all Scouting programs (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Varsity Scouts) that participate in a variety of activities throughout the year. One council camp, Camp Mountaineer, is just south of Morgantown, WV and encompasses over 1,000 acres of West Virginia flora and fauna with sites and cabins available for reservation year-round. We are located about 2.5 hours north of The Summit Bechtel Reserve.
A limited run path tag awaits the FTF!
