At the first stage you will visit what I believe was until recently the only black & white mural in DC, Robert Coleman's 2011 Checkers Club. Once there, you will solve a simple puzzle that will provide the coords for the final stage, where you will see a beautiful but sadly degraded 2012 Hummingbird mural by Eric B, and finally the second version of Aniekan's Marvin Gaye mural, which the artist recreated in 2014 for the Art All Night DC event after the first version was covered up by the construction of a new rowhouse just across the street.
The final coordinates are N 38° 54.abc, W 077° 01.def
...where abc and def must be replaced by correctly answering the following:
a = The number of characters in the name of the game the figures are playing
b = The number of feet visible in the mural +2
c = The number of white checkers game pieces that are diagonally adjacent to each other minus 4
d = The number of characters in the artist's signature at the bottom left of the mural
e = The number of windows in the wall the mural is on x3
f = The number of buttons on the human checker player's jacket
You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.
As usual with city hides, coords are approximate; once you see the murals you'll need to rely on your geosense more than your GPS. Please remember to replace just as found, practice stealth, don't forget your writing utensil and ignore the hints until you can't -- enjoy!
