This cache is part of a series of caches associated with the "All Roads Lead to Dauphin" for the Mega event in July 2015. Each cache in this particular trail is set up to recognize a cacher in NW Manitoba or a Manitoba cacher who has visited NW Manitoba to enjoy what it has to offer. The RW's have always said that there should be a cache at this location - i.e. North of 54. They actually found their 1st cache on Vancouver Island in Feb 2007 and they placed their 1st cache in their hometown of Flin Flon in Aug 2007. Since then they found 10964 caches including at least 1000 in each of the 4 western provinces. To date they have also placed 102 caches. Bonus points: How is it that a "North of 54" sign is "South of 54"???
