一般的な登山道はJR白木山駅にて下車後、１０分程度歩いたところの登山口から登ります。
山頂まで標準ペースで約２時間半掛かります。
登山道は非常に整備されており、迷うことはありませんが、適度な休憩と水分補給を忘れずに。
登山口から山頂までの高低差が約800mあり、広島で一番キツイ山と言われています。
山岳競技者もトレーニングに使用しています。
