The Public Museum of Grand Rapids Wherigo Cache

This cache has been archived.

AddHam: We decided to archive this instead. It doesn't get found often and we've got too much going on at the moment to put in the work needed to revamp the cart. Thanks to all who found it. gvsu4msu and his daughters claim LTF honors with permission due to a missing container.

Geocache Description:

This cartridge was inspired in part by BoxmanCrew's wherigo at John Ball Zoo. Our family is a frequent patron of both places and it seemed only right that if the zoo had a cartridge, the Public Museum of Grand Rapids should have one as well.

This is not meant to be a difficult game but will take some time and an admission fee to enter the museum. Your priority should be to take in the exhibits so time will be given in the cartridge for that. It should take you 1-2 hours to complete. Have fun!

iPhone's have a difficult time playing this cartridge. You're best to do so with an Android device.

The Museum's current hours can be found here.

What is Wherigo?

For those of you who don't know, Wherigo was created as a means to reintroduce the adventure game genre by making it easy for anyone to create and play location-based adventures in the real world. Using Wherigo, the physical world becomes the background for engaging story lines and location-specific virtual entertainment.

Wherigo is a platform that allows you to build location based GPS experiences on your computer and play them in the real world. Rather than searching for puzzle clues on a screen, you look for them in the field. Using Wherigo, you can create interactive tours, adventure games and puzzles... the possibilities are endless.
