Geocache Description:

This is the first of a set of three traditional caches on a bush walk west of Colo Vale and north of Mittagong.  I estimate the trip to take about two hours return.  Most of the distance covered is on a fire trail, but there is some off-trail scrub walking and a couple of easy rocky descents if you decide to get the furthest of the three caches.  Remember to take the usual precautions for bushwalking and bring plenty of water.

I recommend doing all three in order: Verdant Valleys, The Crags, Dragon Head Rock.

Park at the waypoint given (S34 22.800 E150 27.068).  You can get there by driving through Colo Vale, following Colo Road until you turn left onto Springside Road and following it to the end.  There is a private gate in front of you but off to the right you will see the entrance to the fire trail.  I parked near there.

Follow the fire trail west on foot for about 2km.  Along the way you will see some serious-looking private property signs but they are for the property to the left of the fire trail.  Stick to the trail and then continue into the scrub to GZ.  Here you will find the cache but also great views north over seemingly endless valleys of green.

You are looking for a 200ml Sistema container.  There was a pen at time of placement but you should probably bring one anyway.  Please make sure you replace the container out of casual view.
