Geocache Description:

This is my “Postcards of Simpler Times” Series, my way of making the past become visual to all of us. You will not be given coordinates to anything but the nearest post office and have to determine where ground zero is from the old postcard below and the objects you must find in the present setting. The subject, present or not, must be located within a 2 mile radius of the posted coordinates.

School, Halifax, NS
To solve this puzzle cache you must determine the letter substitutions for in the following coordinates.

N 44 AB.CDE, W 63 FG.HJK

The postcard above is circa 1900. First you must figure out where the building in the photograph was and stand on the sidewalk beside it's location.
At the site is a commemoration to the building in the postcard. The year that the school was opened was ##B#.
Looking north you will see a municipal building dedicated to an athlete. A plaque outside the building describes his life, including when his reign as World Champion ended in ##D#.
Walk southeast along the street until you come to another municipal building. Between the building and the street, there is a large metal sculpture. At the top of the sculpture is a street name spelled with K letters.
Just southeast of the civic building is a community oriented building. On it there is a plaque describing the life of a famous Halagonian politician, who died in ###C.
Moving southeast on the street you will find a building connected with a university in Halifax. It's civic address is #H##.
Walk southeast until you come to the next intersection and turn northeast. Along this street there is a plaque describing a local abolitionist. He founded a society in ##J#
Continuing east you will see a church. A man donated £200 to help build this church. The number associated with his name is A.
At the nearby intersection walk northwest. You will walk by a locally famous garden that was constructed in ###E.
Further northwest is another church which was constructed in ###G.
Even further northwest is a cottage with a green sign over the door. This cottage's civic address is ##F#.
From here you should be able to find ground zero easily, but remember you are downtown, signals bounce a lot. I hope you enjoy this cache and look for others in the series. You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.
