Geocache Description:

[English]The locality of Patleyna is a national nature reserve. It's area is 40.62 hectares. It was declared a reserve on 23 October 1948 and reclassified on 15 October 1999. The purpose of its creation is the protection of the only natural habitat of wild carob in Bulgaria. Situated in the Shumen region, Veliki Preslav municipality, 6 km south of Veliki Preslav. Protected territory is a strip forest located on the right of Kamchia River, at the northern slopes of Dragoevska mountain. Starting at Patleyna monastery "St.Panteleimon " and reaches Omurtag. It's length is 2,7 km, width - up to 30-50 m. In the area there are several historical monuments - the remnants of the monastery church and handicraft workshops of the First Bulgarian Kingdom - the end of the IX and the beginning of the X century - part of the monastery of King Boris I.
The parking coords leads you to the beginning of the area where you can park your car and make a slight walk to the old hut Patleyna, where is located the cache. You can look arround the monastery church of King Boris I and Patleyna monastery "St. Panteleimon". However the waypoints guide you on the road that runs past family Hotel Patleyna. Second waypoint (upper) turns you where you can choose whether to continue - on the road or directly upload the stairs to the hut Patleyna. At the top of the stairs there is a big tree in the trunk, of which you will find the cache. Nice lawn for recreation nearby.

[Български]Местността Патлейна е национален природен резерват. Площта му е 40,62 хектара. Обявен е като резерват на 23 октомври 1948 г. Прекатегоризиран е на 15 октомври 1999 г. Целта на създаването му е опазването на единственото естествено находище на див рожков в България. Разположен е в област Шумен, община Велики Преслав, на 6 km южно от Велики Преслав. Защитената територия представлява ивица гора намираща се отдясно на река Голяма Камчия, по северните склонове на Драгоевска планина. Започва от Патлеинския манастир „Св. Пантелеймон“ и достига до Омуртаг. Дължината му е 2,7 km, а ширината — до 30-50 m. В района се намират няколко исторически паметници — останки от манастирска църква и занаятчийски работилници от времето на Първото Българско царство - края на IX и началото на X век - част от манастира на Цар Борис I.
Координатите за паркинг ви водят до началото на местността, където можете да паркирате колата си и да направите лека разходка до старата хижа Патлейна, където се намира и кеша. Можете да разгледате и манастирската църква на цар Борис I, както и Патлейнският манастир „Свети Пантелеймон“. Точките за подход обаче ви водят по път, който минава покрай Семеен хотел Патлейна. Втора точка (горна) ви оказва мястото, където можете да изберете дали да продължите по пътя или да се качите директно по стълбите до хижа Патлейна. В горния край на стълбите Ви очаква голямо дърво в дънера, на което ще намерите кеша. Има хубава поляна за отдих в близост.
