Minibiebs of Little Free Libaries zie je steeds vaker. Maar het idee van kleine gemeenschapsbibliotheken is eigenlijk al heel oud.
Citizen Dave schreef op zijn blog dat hij kleine bibliotheken tegenkwam bij vuurtorens. Aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw vervulden inspecteurs de rol van bibliothecaris.
De inspecteurs van de vuurtorens kwamen iedere drie maanden langs om de vuurtoren te controleren. Ze brachten dan ook een pakket boeken mee in een klein kastje. Dit kastje lieten ze achter bij de vuurtorenwachter en zijn gezin. Het oude kastje nam hij weer mee om bij een volgende vuurtoren achter te laten.
Een slimme manier om boeken te delen! Volgens Citizen Dave waren er in die tijd wel 700 van dit soort bibliotheken in omloop.

In Sleen staat sinds april 2015 een minibieb, omdat het leuk is te lezen, boeken te delen, te ruilen en te laten rondreizen! Omdat geocachen óók ontzettend leuk is, passen deze leuke bezigheden goed samen. Wie weet, ter inspiratie van elkaar.
Dus, als je de cache hebt gevonden, neem gerust een boek of tijdschrift mee als je dat leuk vindt!
Er is wat ruimte voor goodies, bugs of coins.
De cache kan eraf gehaald worden om te loggen!
Mini Biebs or Little Free libaries are seen more often. But the idea of small community libraries is actually very old.
Citizen Dave wrote on his blog that he encountered small libraries in lighthouses. At the end of the nineteenth century inspectors fulfilled the role of librarian.
The inspectors of the lighthouses came every three months by to check the lighthouse. They also brought along a package of books in a small box. The cabinet they left behind at the lighthouse keeper and his family. The old cabinet he took it again to leave in another lighthouse.
A smart way to share books! According to Citizen Dave were there at that time 700 of this kind of libraries in circulation.
