Geocache Description:

This cache overlooks the rail headquarters of the Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad. The cache is not on or under the bridge, but is close to it. You do not need to leave the pavement to get the cache. You can park at either end of the bridge. Bring your own pen. This is a low traffic/muggle area. Watch for traffic, keep your little ones safe from road/fall hazards. Please replace the cache as found.

Dareguy and Parapro would like to dedicate this cache to our grandson, Lucas, who will someday soon be a fellow cacher. Among his many interests are trains.

This cache features a great view of the railroad that intersects our hometown, Carthage, and the headquarters of the track owners.

The Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad (MNA,) headquartered here in Carthage, Missouri, operates approximately 594 miles of line in Arkansas and Missouri. It provides a critical link through this area, connecting with Class I carriers of UP, BNSF, and KCS to transport product across all of North America. MNA tracks run from Kansas City, Missouri to Newport, Arkansas (located 90 miles northeast of Little Rock, Arkansas).

The major commodities generally moved by MNA are coal, grain, frozen foods, minerals, steel, chemicals, asphalt, sand and forest products. The MNA represents a critical corridor for moving more than 108,000 carloads per year.

The Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad also owns the rail line that the Branson Scenic Railway operates its scenic passenger trip on from Branson Missouri, into Arkansas, and back again.

This cache is our first attempt at this type of container. The container would not have been possible without the help of our friend Bob Bastin. Thanks Bob.

Congratulations to Brandy Jack for first to find. By multiple requests a new log has been installed in a water proof container.
