Geocache Description:

This geocache is hidden in Plum Creek Park South.  I am fortunate to live nearby, as this is one of my favorite places to enjoy a walk through the woods.

On the day that I came out to place this geocache, I walked most of the trails here.  It was a gorgeous spring afternoon, and although there were many cars in the lot, I didn't encounter many others on the trails.

I was enjoying walking through the quiet woods when I suddenly heard an owl that was a fair distance away.  In response, I heard another owl calling back to the first.  I stopped to listen to them call back and forth to each other for several minutes.

Suddenly the woods were quiet again.  I continued my hike, and about half an hour later I heard another pair of owls calling to each other.

You might be able to hear them too when you visit.

I don't know much about birds, so after I got home I did a little research.  The owls that I heard were barred owls.  Some describe the sound of their call as sounding like someone saying "Who cooks for you?"

This geocache is hidden right next to the paved trail.  You are looking for a peanut butter jar that is covered in camouflage duct tape.  Please bring a pen with you to sign the log and be sure to cover the geocache with natural camo before you leave.

Plum Creek Park is open 8 a.m. to dusk only.  DO NOT seek this geocache after dark.

Placed with permission of the Medina County Parks--  Permit #083.
