This mini cache is hidden near the mikan (orange) trees planted on the grounds of Minatto. Minatto is a great resting spot with several restaurants and omiyage shops.
The calligraphy on the sign for Minatto (みなっと) was written by a local high school student. Her calligraphy was selected from a shodo (calligraphy) competition in the area.
From Minatto you can look across the harbor to the mountains covered with mikan trees. In October, November and December the moutainside will be dotted with oranges.
From the middle of April until the beginning of May you can smell Mikan flowers in the air. Bring something small (500 yen coin size)to put into the cache! みなっと敷地内のみかんの木が植えられている所にあります。 みなっとには、食堂や八幡浜の特産品を売っているお店があります。 みなっとの看板は、地元の高校生、書道ガールが書いたものです。 この地区でロゴを募集して、たくさんの中から選ばれました。 みなっとからは、港ごしにみかんの木が植えられた段々畑が見られます。 4月中旬から1ヶ月ほど、みかんの花の香りが漂います。 10月くらいから、3ヶ月ほど実ったみかんの実が緑色の山をオレンジ色の水玉模様にしてくれます。 500円玉くらいの小さい何かを持って来て下さい。
