The cache formerly known as "A View to a Thrill". now known as the "Camouflaged Coastal Cache". This nano geocache is along the beach dune line in the quiet, yet popular Folly Field area of Hilton Head Island. Wear shoes, there are sand burrs. Park at one of the pay to park Public beach accesses nearby and enjoy a nice stroll on the beach. This is marked as having a fee, the only fee is if you choose to park nearby. You can walk or bike to the cache for free. Bring your own pen!
Brief History: This is my first cache. Originally hidden in May of 2015 with Stone Creek Cachers being the FTF on May 16, 2015 with Sugarjack coming in 2nd later that day. My first cache! I had to put it close to to some of my favorite places growing up. If you're not on foot or bicycle, fork out the coin to park at one of the nearby parking areas. They are pay to park for public use if you don't have a decal. All of the beach front resort communities along this stretch of beach are PRIVATE and access is restricted to RENTERS, OWNERS and GUESTS of renters and owners only. So again, head down to Folly Field beach access or Islanders Beach Park if you want to park your vehicle nearby. This cache is in fact down on the beach along the dune line. Wear shoes, there are sand burrs! It is a nano cache, that said, bring your own pen. In fact it is a nod to the first cache that opened my eyes to caches not just being ammo boxes and film canisters. This cache requires ZERO bushwacking or dune damage. It can be reached from the pre-defined beach path/trail. There are several other beach accesses coming from private homes, private resort properties, and side streets. Please don't trespass. Any private accesses are marked quite well. Congratulations to Stone Creek Cachers for on being the FTF and Sugarjack for being STF! Update: As of July 21, 2016, this is no longer a premium-only cache! Enjoy!
