The access gate to the park is always closed but unlocked from 6:00 to 18:00. Take some time to enjoy the stunning views along the short walk to the cache. The cache is a micro (please bring your own pen) living snugly in a bird house under a large tree. The special tool required to remove the cache from it's dwelling is the "fake hole" of the bird house. To remove it place one finger inside the hole and lightly pull to remove it.
Use the tool to slowly, and gently coax the cache from it's home... After doing the necessary admin, replace the cache and the tool and take one more moment to enjoy the view.
Kruin Park is a very small nature reserve that is totally surrounded by the suburbs of Muckleneuk and Lukasrand and consists mainly of indigenous flora. Fauna is mainly limited to bird species and small mammals, reptiles and insects. Kruin Park is part of the oldest nature reserve in South Africa, the 115-year old Groenkloof Nature Reserve, which was proclaimed in 1895.
The Kruin Park Nature Reserve provides lovely views of Pretoria. A well marked hiking trail of about 2 km (once you find the start!) will take you on a route through this small nature reserve. The area is fenced in and is safe for dogs.

To make the most of your trip bring along your dog/s and/or kid/s and enjoy this beautiful piece of African Bush in the middle of town and while you're here, enjoy the many other caches in and around the reserve. This cache was placed with the kind permission of Tshwane parks. Remember that this is a nature reserve, please take care not to damage any flora.
