Loch Junaluska Monster Traditional Cache

A short walk from nearby parking to a really cool place that most visitors pass by without noticing. Daylight hours only, please do not attempt at night due to houses nearby. You are looking for a little monster, not a box!

Legend has it that people have been reporting strange monster sightings at Lake Junaluska for hundreds of years. Even the earliest Native American villagers on this site reported seeing a large unknown creature nearby. In modern times, this monster has even been known to chase children and try to get sweets from them. In 1971 an investigative crew reportedly filmed the mysterious creature but were baffled when the round cannisters containing the film were apparently chewed up and left in pieces. Since that time, no one has been able to prove the existence of this monster.

Of course, none of this is true. Lake Junalsuka is a manmade lake built around 1913 as part of a retreat center. No strange monster sightings have been reported, but  the geocacher with a keen eye might spot something strange if they look carefully enough.

Please place cache back as found and make sure it is well hidden. You are looking for a little toy monster, not a box. There is a letterbox nearby, this is not the cache. DO NOT log this cache as a find unless you find the little monster
