Red Hills Pepperwood Bronze Tiger Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: #4 of 4 caches archived today, to celebrate a New Year [:)] This spot has changed a lot since we hid this. The hole at the base of the tree is gone, as the tree has begun to swallow the rock which had partly blocked the hole. We found and removed the replacement that someone left over a year ago. Any attempt to hide a new cache along this section of trail will need to be rather creative to make it work and keep it hidden from muggles, many of whom signed the log on the replacement. Many thanks to those who came to look for this during the past five years or so!

FWIW, the only bad experience of the hike came soon after we retrieved this. A large group of people were hiking up from the street and we stopped to chat a bit. While we did that, a punk on a bicycle came roaring down the trail with no warning, did not stop and nearly hit a child [V]

Geocache Description:

A pill bottle a couple of steps off the El Encanto Trail, hidden in a spot that might be a little too obvious. Closest parking is at the western end of Kimber, across from the school.

NOTE: at the time this was hidden, we also hid several other caches, but the others appear to be affected by proximity to one or two puzzle caches. Thus, we can't submit those other caches yet. Stay tuned!!

The name means nothing.  This cache might help you qualify for some of the many list-type challenge caches scattered across North America, including some of ours.

Our intention had been to replace Caesar Salad, which was destroyed by the Springs Fire of May, 2013.  But the area has been *very* slow to recover, mostly due to lack of anything like normal rainfall.  Thus, we have placed a few micros which will serve until the situation improves enough to allow larger containers.

All of these are hidden in ways which are quite familiar to most cachers who have at least a few Finds.  This one should be very easy, perhaps even *too* easy.  If it isn't rehidden well, it could be easily muggled.

Enjoy the walk!
