El Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas (CENIM) es uno de los centros de investigación con mayor prestigio y tradición del CSIC (Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas). Fue creado en 1963 por la unión de los Institutos de la Soldadura (1946), del Hierro y el Acero (1947) y de Metales no Férreos (1958). Su actividad inicial se centró en prestar soporte tecnológico a la industria siderúrgica española, pero actualmente es un Centro multidisciplinar, que agrupa investigadores del Área de Ciencia y Tecnología de Materiales.
Este caché, situado en las inmediaciones de tan emblemático Centro, es un homenaje al mundo de los metales y las soldaduras, sin los cuales no podríamos estar jugando a Geocaching con nuestros cacharritos tecnológicos. Es de tamaño micro y hace falta llevar máquina de escribir.

The National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM) is one of the research centers with greater tradition of the CSIC (Council for Scientific Research). It was created in 1963 by the union of the Institutes of Welding (1946), Iron and Steel (1947) and Non-Ferrous Metals (1958). Its initial activity focused on providing technological support to the Spanish steel industry, but today is a multidisciplinary center, which brings together researchers from the area of Science and Technology of Materials.
This cache, located near such emblematic Center, is a tribute to the world of metals and welding. Without them our technological gadgets and geocaching would not be possible. It's a micro sized cache. Bring your own writing tool.
