My Ex-Girlfriend grew up near here and spent a good deal of her childhood hanging out in and around this Ravine. While we dated, she told me she wanted to make and place a cache here. We scouted the area and found this spot which was just out of range of the nearby cache and figured out the container she wanted to use. We collected all of the pieces needed, but alas we never got to putting the cache together fully before we broke up. Now that she is gone, I have had more time to put into Geocaching and I decided to complete this cache and place it as she originally intended.
Renfrew Ravine is one of the few remaining ravines in the city. It used to be a thriving and beautiful green space, but over the years it has become filled with garbage and used for less then reputable uses. Recently there have been pushes to get the area cleaned up and refitted, but the space is not as pristine as it once was. Enjoy the area as best as you can, but be aware that you may find garbage and other things strewn about. If you are willing, take this opportunity to do a quick CITO of the area and help give back to the community by helping clean up a bit. After you have found this cache, check out the pathway that goes around the ravine and leads to the nearby caches.
When I stopped by to drop off the cache I found that the park has been drastically cleaned up since when we first scouted the area. This has removed a great deal of cover for when you make the find the so stealth will be definitely required! No need to trample any bushes to make this find, please be respectful of the area and do not destroy any of the vegetation.
Please treat the cache with care as It may be a bit fragile. Please replace it exactly as found.
