A Fine Pair # 296 ~ Tetbury
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Number 296 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box. The only rule is that they have to be able to be photographed together, and the phone boxes have to be red.
We thought this to be such a 'fine' Fine Pair, with its well-maintained replica of a Victorian Penfold post box that it deserved to be included in the series, even though they are on opposite sides of the road.
Tetbury came to life with the growth of the Cotswold wool trade and is an architectural gem, with many of the wool merchants houses still looking as they did three hundred years ago.
At the above co-ordinates you will need to find:
The Post Box Number: GL8 A B C
The telephone box has now been decommissioned so you only need the number from the post box to find the final location
The cache can be found at:
N51 38 . ( C ) ( B - A + C ) ( B/2 )
W002 09 . ( B ) ( A ) ( 3 x C )
The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum.
If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do, I would just ask that you let mattd2k at email@example.com know first so he can keep track of the numbers and locations to avoid duplication.
He also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series so once your cache is published please contact him via his profile page to have yours added.
