Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
At approximately 1200hrs on Saturday 16 January 1943, three Spitfires flying as ‘Red Section’ on a formation flying exercise from RAF Grangemouth crashed onto the southern face of King’s Seat Hill in bad weather. A memorial has been placed in their memory on the main path up to King's Seat Hill via Bank Hill. The cache is located not far from the summit.
Please note the terrain rating of this cache. Appropriate hillwalking gear is a must. Please allow enough time to complete this cache safely - approximately 3 hours round trip from either of the given parking waypoints.
There is a rough boulder shelter located on the way up King's Seat Hill and another shelter at the summit. The memorial is located approximately half way between these two shelters and is clearly visible from the path.
