1000-Stufen-Schlucht Traditional Geocache

Die Schlucht der 1000 Stufen ist ohne Zweifel einer der interessantesten Abschnitte am Meraner Höhenweg. Er liegt zwischen den Höfen Unterstell und Giggelberg. Beide Höfe sind mit einer modernen Seilbahn erreichbar. Fast genau in der Mitte dieser Etappe wird der wilde Lahnbachgraben gequert, der von der darüber liegenden Lahnbachspitze (3081m) in der Texelgruppe herunterzieht. Im Winter jagen Lawinen durch das steile Tal und füllen es oft bis in den Frühsommer hinein mit Restschnee.
Über insgesamt 987 Stufen steigt man hinunter in den Lahnbachgraben und verlässt ihn auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite im anstrengenden Aufstieg. Dieser ca. 1,5km lange und abenteuerlich angelegte Wegabschnitt ist ein kleiner Kraftakt, der vom Wanderer eine gute Kondition verlangt, dafür aber mit einer wilden, fast schon mystisch anmutenden Umgebung belohnt.

Situato tra i masi Unterstell e Giggelberg la gola dei 1000 Scalini è sicuramente una dei passaggi più interessanti della Via di Merano. Entrambi i masi sono raggiungibili con funivie moderne. A metà del percorso si attraversa l`omponente gola "Lahnbach", che partendo dalla cima "Lahnbachspitze" 3081m), nel gruppo del Tessa, arriva fino in valle. D`inverno innumerevoli valanghe si abbatono nella ripida gola, colmandola di neve, che permane anche fino all`inizio dell`estate.
Si scende per ben 987 gradini nella gola "Lahnbach" per poi risalire con fatica sul lato opposto. Questo tratto avventuroso lungo in ca. 1,5km, richiede all`escursionista una buona preparazione fisica, che verrà ripagata da un favoloso ambiente selvaggio, quasi mistico.

The gorge of the 1000 steps is without doubt one of the most interesting sections of the Merano High Mountain Trail. It lies between the courts Unterstell and Giggelberg. Both farms are accessible by a modern cable car. Almost exactly in the middle of this leg the wild Lahnbach ditch is crossed, the pulling down from the overlying Lahnbach peak (3081m) in the Texel Group. In winter, avalanches chase through the steep valley and fill it up often up to the early summer with residual snow.
There is a total of 987 steps you have to descend into the Lahnbach ditch and leave him on the opposite side in the strenuous climb. This 1.5km long and adventurous scale path is a small tour where there is required a good physical condition of the hikers. This requirement is rewarded with a wild, almost mystical surrounding.
