Tukwila's New Train Station Traditional Cache

TUKWILA'S NEW TRAIN STATION

Welcome to Tukwila's new train station!

This station is a commuter's dream with lots of parking, a large metro bus stop and a locked area for bicycle commuters. From this station, you can use your ORCA card and catch the Sounder train going north to King Street Station in Seattle, continuing north to Edmonds, Mukilteo and finally Everett, You can also catch the Sounder train to a Seahawks game as well. The Sounder Train also runs south to Tacoma with stops in Kent, Auburn, Sumner, Puyallup before hitting Tacoma. At this same location, you can also catch the Amtrak Cascades train if you have a hankering to visit friend in Portland or head north to BC.

As a interesting side note and has nothing to do with the cache, the large fenced building just to the south east of the Tukwila train station should catch your attention. This building has a group of odd metal sculptures in front of it, tall black fence around the facility with security cameras everywhere but oddly no signs telling you what this place is. This building is Seattle Office of the Federal Reserve Bank of, San Francisco which is part of the 12 district of the Federal Reserve. This location processes billions currency looking for counterfeit notes as well as older notes that are ready for retirement. Think about that when you drive by grabbing this cache.

Now, back to the cache itself. The cache IS NOT at the train station or near the tracks. However, it IS located just south of the station parking lot down a new sidewalk that takes you down to a brand new section of Strander Blvd which will eventually connect with the older portion of Stander just to the west of the railroad tracks. Please obey the signs when leaving your geo ride in the parking lot. No need to climb or reach over any fences. This one should not be too difficult to find given the narrow location you have to work with at GZ. Muggles could be a factor, especially if they are on a train or possibly in the parking lot. Otherwise, this is a fairly muggle secure area. If you visit this cache on the week days during commute times OR on a weekend before or after a Seahawks game, this location could be swarming with muggles. Do plan your visit accordingly. Enjoy!
