HR:

EN:
In 1897 a new hospital was built in Pakrac (the old was in Trenk castle, next to the chapel of St. Ivan Nepomuk) by the means of the Royal Government. It was one of the most advanced and best equiped hospitals and it stood out from the other hospitals for its department for insane patients (as it was called in the days). It is located near the river Pakrac and surrounded by beautiful gardens. In 1910 a new separate building was built away from the main dowry, next to Pakra (building behind which evacuation of hospital took place) and Department of insane was moved there.
During the Homeland War the building was severely damaged. It is protected cultural heritage at the moment and although there have been several initiatives for its reconstruction with new purpose it is still on hold.
