This open grassy area is the one from the postcards. Situated between the Union and Foellinger Auditorium, students can be found around the clock with a hammock, walking their pets, napping, studying, and occassionally caching. The Quad includes echo points on either end- a whisper uttered at a focal point can be heard several hundred feet away, out on the Quad.
Another notable icon is the Eternal Flame. Legend says that kissing a sweetheart there will mean you will be together forever. Ironically, there has never been an actual flame.
