Geocache Description:

If you're in the Texas Medical Center for an appointment or to visit a patient, here's a cache to take your mind off things.

I work in the Texas Medical Center and learned quickly that there were few caches I could walk to on my lunch break. There's nothing fancy about this cache. It's there. It's small. And you'll find it quickly. Don't be confused by all the levels. I'm not that sinister. Just go for the best view. And if you're in the area for medical procedures or are visiting someone who is, hopefully this provides a fun little distraction.

The structure is TMC's Garage 2. It straddles Bertner Avenue, named for Ernst W. Bertner, M.D., the first director of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. That insitution's Main Building is northeast of GZ. St. Luke's Hospital is northwest of GZ. Texas Children's Hospital is due west. The UT Health School of Nursing is southeast of GZ. Now, southwest of the building you'll notice an open plot of land with some high grass. That is an MD Anderson project that is attempting to recreate part of the Katy Prairie.

For bikers, the garage has several racks. For bus riders, the METRO stop along Bertner serves six different lines. If you work in the TMC and ever want to cache with a buddy over lunch, shoot me a message!
