Geocache Description:

A farewell event for Ge0Patr0l as they move to the neighbouring province.

A sad day has come to the Calgary caching community.  We must bid farewell to our friends, Ge0Patr0l, who have elected to abandon this province due to the recent change in provincial political party leadership.

Just kidding. wink

They are still leaving the province though, for other reasons, and we must say goodbye.

I first met Ge0Patr0l during CCARF12 at an ACME cache or two, with a bonus of meeting the little Odie, as temporary pet while parents were away.  We chatted some, then chatted some more at the wrap-up.  I remember getting little Odie his own trackable dog tag while we were there.  smiley

After that, we continued talking and ended up doing a CCAR event or two (or more! wink) together since then, and I have been lucky enough to be able to call them close friends.  A lot has happened in the last few years; the addition of a third (and miniature) Ge0Patr0l, a lot of challenges sought out and completed (though sometimes I still wonder how I got roped into going along wink), a few puzzles that I got forced to try and rather cryptic hints when I couldn't get it, and even a Mega Event where we found a ton of caches, and had a ton of fun.  laugh

Other than when my Mom is home and I drag her out with me, I'd say I cache the most with Ge0Patr0l so I will sorely miss my best caching buddies, challenge instigators, and puzzle helpers(ish). wink

Come out to Edworthy Park (south side) on Saturday July 11th from 10:00am to 12:30pm to say farewell to Ge0Patr0l before they leave the province.

Bring a folding / camping chair or two along, just in case there isn't enough sitting space at the picnic tables. laugh Feel free to bring the geopups along, but please be aware that there will be little 2-legged critters running around for them to chase, so make sure they are comfortable around them.
