Located between junctions 11a and 12 of the M5, on the outskirts of Gloucester, with splendid views from the Brookethorpe side.
Gloucester Services (Southbound) opened in mid-May 2015 and offers a different experience.
Inside, the new services bear little resemblance to the average motorway stopping point, with two huge tree trunks cut from the neighbouring Forest of Dean suspended from the ceiling in the entrance of the building, which is clad in Cotswold stone. The roof is also covered in grass, which those behind the project hope will enable the services to blend into the picturesque surroundings.
