Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden just off the Scott Creek nature trail in the Edisto Beach State Park. The park was built in the 1930's and is one of the original CCC parks in SC. It has cabins, camping, and a newly refurbished nature center. The nature trail is a four-mile loop that takes you through a variety of trees, past several wonderful marsh views, and eventually ends up at the Environmental Learning Center which highlights the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin. The trails are well marked, well maintained, and easy to traverse. The park features the state's longest system of handicapped-friendly ADA trails for hiking and biking. Rich in Native American history, Edisto Beach is one of four oceanfront state parks in South Carolina. Permission was granted by the head ranger and park manager to place this cache.

Admission to the park is $5/adult; $3.25 SC seniors; $3/child age 6-15; free for children 5 and younger. The park is open 8am-6pm, daily (extended during Daylight Savings Time). Office hours are M-F 9am-5pm.

Enjoy your trip to Edisto and happy caching!
