Geocache Description:

The Coordinates will take you to the historical marker, the cache is actually hidden inside the Visitor Center of Grand Lake.  After checking out the historical marker, go in and say hello to the wonderful staff, they know where the cache is hidden if you should have trouble finding it.

"Often called the 'crown jewel' of northeast Oklahoma, the four-county region surrounding Grand Lake offers limitless wonderment.  Home to water, wildlife, rolling hillsides, mighty oaks and tall pines, it's an area to visit for a few days or enjoy for a lifetime.  Activities range from golf and all types of water sports to some of the best motorcycle roads, an outstanding fishery and outdoor hunting paradise. The lake, which lies in a southwest to northeast direction, is popular with sailboat enthusiasts wishing to take advantage of the prevailing wind."

In order to find this cache you will need to visit the Visitor Center during normal buisness hours. Buisness hours are:

Fri - Mon 9am-5pm

Sat 10am-3pm Sun 12pm-3pm (Summer Hours)

Closed on weekends from Labor Day to Memorial Day (Winter Hours)

Permission was granted to leave this cache here, as this is my first "Welcome Center" cache, I am starting out with a smaller size cache, if I get good reviews and better than average traffic, I will make a nice; more themed appropriate cache for this locale.  Please feel free to ask a lot of questions about the area with the staff, they are beyond friendly and eager to share with you the history and fun things to do.  There are many many awesome things to do in this area, and it is my goal with this cache to hopefully show hunters local as well as abroad all that is avaliable in Grove Oklahoma.

For more information, please visit the Grand Lake Association & Visitor Center for up to date activities, fees, and summer fun.

There is nothing better to me then a nice drive through the country to just unwind, rock out to your favorite tunes and just enjoy what the road has to show you. This series is more just a quick PnG with a few twists, to enjoy the country and boost your find scores up just a bit.

Along the way I encourage you to check out the random caches and power trails that others have hidden. (also another reason why I made this series). This route will take you through several small towns with a lot of history, take time to enjoy some of the shops and parks that you may see, or just to take note of when you really want to go on a weekend adventure.

Things you will need to bring with you:
*Click Stick
*Geo-tool (some of these pesky nanos may be a little hard to retrieve )
*Geosense (some of these caches even though granted permission by land owner are on private property)
*Stealth( some areas are very muggle heavy, or traffic heavy, be sure to practice safety first)
*Wadeing boots.
*Gloves
*Favorite Music, (enjoy the tunes and the views, maybe not so much some of the smells ;) as you will discover).
*Camera (some of these places you will want to take a picture or to of).

Most importantly have fun. This series isn't meant to be anything other than a nice country drive.
I have made a Country Wild List for you to access easily to complete the whole series.

Congratulations to MMsearching on the FTF!!!
