Geocache Description:

This is a cache in memory to our nightmare we (a family of 4 from Germany) experienced near this place in summer 2014.

The story:

We were on vacation in the US with our RV (Cruise America) and had a very amazing trip through Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Arizona. We have seen the lovely landscapes of Zion NP, Bryce NP, Kodachrome, Arches NP, Canyonlands and many other marvelous places. We have learned a lot about american culture and enjoyed the extraordinary hospitality of the residents. All in all it was a very eventful and harmonic holidy trip - until this point on Highway 163 a few miles before Arizona. Near this parking area our trip stopped suddenly due to heavy gearbox damage of the RV. Oil dropped on the street (which we collected with pots and pans from the kitchen kit - yes, we are ecologically thinking Germans!), the sun burned on our heads at high noon and we waited for towing service from Flagstaff. After felt eternity we were hooked up and arrived Flagstaff in the late evening where we moved to an other RV. So we missed Monument Valley.

But finally we continued our trip and this incident could not reduce our reminiscence of this great family trip to south west USA.

We decided to place a cache here in memory to this nightmare. We invite all vacationers to search for this which will help to protect you against any engine damages (hopefully smiley).

Good luck and have nice holidays! Happy hunting!

Attention: Be aware of snakes and scorpions when you are seeking for the cache!
