Geocache Description:

Sand Skink

Neoseps (Eumeces) reynoldsi
This 4-inch long lizard is smooth, shiny, and scaled with very small forelimbs. Its front legs are able to fold back into small grooves in its body, which contributes to its snakelike appearance.

Sand Swimmer
The sand skink spends the majority of its time "swimming" just below the loose, sandy surface. Its lack of external ear openings, wedge-shaped head, and countersunk jaw all enable it to swim better while the clear coating over its eyes allow it to see prey even when beneath the sand.

Limited Habitat
Sand skinks are only found within the Florida central scrub. It is the only remaining member of its genus, inhabiting just six counties in central Florida.

You are seeking a regular sized camo painted jar hidden near the bench looking out on the nearby Eagles' nest.
