This church was built as a Free Church in the 19th century and later became Church of Scotland. The village church has ashlar sandstone walls and a slate roof. It is no longer in ecclesiastical use, and the building has been converted into a house, but remains in a very good condition. There isn't much history about this church published but it is located in a village which has 2 war memorial which is unusual for a village of Elsrickle's size. These were the subject of 6669's caches "Twa Gallant Lads" and "Lest We Forget - Ellsridgehill" which have both been archived.
The cache is located down Candymill Road from the Church on a small grassy area near the war memorial. Please be stealthy as it can be busy here. Parking at village hall which is located beside the church so not far to walk. A pen will be required for this cache. Enjoy!
***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CACHE IS NOT ON OR AT THE BASE OF THE WAR MEMORIAL***
