Geocache Description:

The Greensand Ridge Walk

The Greensand Ridge Walk is a long distance walk mainly in Bedfordshire, but also crossing into Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. The walk was launched in 1986 and follow a ridge of greensand which rises from the clay vales on either side and is an ideal introduction to the history, landscape and wildlife of this part of the country. The 40 mile / 64 km walk starts in Leighton Buzzard and finishes in Gamlingay.

More infomation about the walk can be found at their website...

The starting point of the walk on the towpath of the Grand Union canal where is it crossed by Leighton Road in Leighton Buzzard. There is an information board there and I had intended to place the cache to the underneath of of sign using a magnet. However, it would appear to be made of aluminium! I've gone for the next but one sign along the towpath to the North. I've added a waypoint for the original information sign and also parking.
