Landstinget i Värmland äger av tradition offentlig konst som är placerat runt om på alla sjukhus, vårdcentraler, folktandvårdskliniker och andra byggnader som landstinget förfogar över. Samlingen är omfattande och representerar många olika sorters konst som måleri, grafik, fotografier, skulpturer, designobjekt, konsthantverk och textilier. Om man arbetar i lokalerna dagligen kanske man inte tänker så mycket över vad som befinner sig på väggarna, och den som bara ska på besök kanske också har för mycket annat att tänka på för att titta åt sidan när man går förbi. Den här rundan visar upp en liten bråkdel av det som landstinget äger och som finns på Sjukhuset i Arvika – och kanske ser du då sjukhuset på ett nytt sätt?
Du behöver inte gå in i några avdelningar eller mottagningar, utan vandringen sker i korridorer öppna för allmänheten. Dock får man respektera öppettiderna i huvudentrén:
måndag – fredag: 06.30 – 17.00
lördag – söndag: 13.30 – 16.30
Konstrundan är rullstolsvänlig, men vid framplockandet av cachen behöver den rullstolsbundna hjälp.
Börja vid koordinaterna och gå därefter in på sjukhuset. Direkt i anslutning till entrén finns två mosaikbelagda pelare.
- Leta efter en skylt på väggen till vänster om ingången som anger vilket år mosaiken blev inköpt = A
Till höger i korridoren finns en rad svart-vita kort som dokumenterar den tidiga historian till sjukhuset.
- Hitta bilden som visar Lundsholms herrgård i Mangskog – vilket år är den tagen? = B = 1922
Gå vidare mot kaféet, där hittar du en ny pelare med konst
- Räkna antalet blå fåglar = C
Du ska nu bege dig lite djupare in i sjukhuset. Följ skylt mot ”Hiss D”. Du passerar då förbi en stor trappa, håller till höger genom dörren och där ser du ett stort svart skåp bredvid ett litet rådjur.
- Räkna bokstäverna på tredje raden på skåpet = D
Fortsätt mot ”Hiss D” genom en dörr, och i ändan av korridoren finns et stort konstverk i trä.
- Hitta fyra siffror till vänster bredvid konstverket = E
Vänd om och gå tillbaks till det svarta skåpet. Ta där till höger mot ”Hiss E”. I korridoren finns 10 tavlor i 5 par.
- Vilken siffra är gemensam för tavlorna? = F
I den bortre änden av korridoren tar du första korridor till höger mot ”Hiss E” och runt hörnet finns ett större konstverk.
- Vilket år skapades konstverket? (fyra siffror) = G
Vänd om, gå tillbaks och sedan riktning mot ”Hiss B”. I korridoren före hisshallen finns två målade tavlor.
- Vilket årtal har tavlorna gemensamt? = H
Ta trappan eller ”Hiss B” en våning ner, från plan 3 till plan 2. Gå därefter i riktning mot ”Hiss A” Utgång/Huvudentré. I korridoren finns flera stora tavlor.
- Hitta Olles telefonnummer, vilka är de två första siffrorna efter 0? = I
- Hitta årtalet 1986, vilken månad det året? = J
Följ sedan skylt mot Utgång/Huvudentré och ta trappan eller hiss A en våning upp. Du är nu klar med konstrundan, och beräkningen återstår för att hitta cachen.

The County Council of Värmland owns by tradition an extensive collection of public art, which is placed around in the hospitals, health centres, public dentist offices and all the other buildings where there is activity. The collection represents many different kinds of art including painting, graphics, photographs, sculptures, design object, arts and crafts and textiles. Those who work on the premises on a daily basis might not take notice, and those who is just visiting might also have too much else in their minds to take a look sideways passing by the walls. This tour of art aims to show you a small fraction of the art the County Council owns hung in the county hospital of Arvika.
You will not need walk into wards or clinics, the route takes you trough the corridors open to the public. However, you are kindly asked to respect the opening hours of the main entrance:
Monday - Friday: 6:30 am to 17.00 pm
Saturday - Sunday: 13:30 am to 16:30 pm
The tour of art is wheelchair friendly, but the wheelchair dependent will need help to pick up the cache.
Begin at the coordinates and then go into the hospital. Directly adjacent to the entrance you will find two mosaic-tiled pillars.
- Look for a sign on the wall to the left of the entrance indicating the year of the mosaic was purchased (“inköpt” )= A
To the right in the corridor there are several black-and-white pictures documenting the early history of the hospital.
- Find the picture that shows “Lundholms herrgård i Mangskog” - what year is it taken? (The latter of the two)= B = 1922
Proceed to the cafe, where you will find a new pillar of art.
- Count the number of blue birds = C
You will now head a little deeper into the hospital. Follow the signs towards "Hiss D". You will pass a large staircase, there keep to the right, walk through the door and immediately you will find a large black cabinet next to a small deer.
- Count the letters on the third row on the cabinet = D
Continue towards “Hiss D”, through a door, and you will then approach a larger piece of wooden art.
- Find four digits to the left of the artwork = E
Turn around and go back to the black cabinet. There, turn right towards "Hiss E". In the corridor you see 10 pictures in 5 pairs.
- What number does the pictures have in common? = F
At the far end of the corridor, take the first right towards "Hiss E" and around the corner you will find a larger work of art.
- What year was the art created? (four digits) = G
Turn around, walk back and then in the direction of "Hiss B". In the corridor just before the elevator hall there are two paintings.
- What year does the paintings have in common? = H
Take the stairs or "Hiss B" one floor downwards from “plan 3” to “plan 2”. Then head in the direction of "Hiss A - Utgång/Huvudentré". In the corridor there are several large pictures.
- Find Olle's phone number, which are the first two digits after the 0? = I
- Find the year 1986, then which month that year? = J
Then follow the signs towards “Utgång/Huvudentré” and take the stairs or “Hiss A” one floor up. You are now done with the art tour and only the calculation remains to find the cache.

Since this is a Letterbox there is a stamp in the cache. This should not be traded or picked up, it should be used by those who wants to stamp their own letterbox logbook. Sign the logbook in the cache as usual.
