I would like to show you the Homokkomarom church, but the cache is 1,5 km far from it in order to take a short walk in the forest.
Pálos monks settled down here in 1360, but their church and nunnery were ruined by the turkish conquerors. After the turkish occupation the church was rebuilt in 1722. During the reconstruction works a picture of Holy Mary and Jesus was found among the roots of an oak-tree. By touching it or praying in front of it, miraculous healings happened. The relic of St. Felix was donated by pope XIV. Benedict and brought here by Otto Kopik, abbot of Celldömölk.
How to get there?
By car: You can park right next to the church, or in case of pilgrimage in the village centre, 500 m away from the church.
By bus: From Nagykanizsa, the bus stop is in the village centre, 500 m away from the church.
