Geocache Description:

I was Hunting with a friend in 20011, High in the Mountains

We came upon this wrecked aircraft.

Personally, I believe he brought me here deliberately... Knowing that I am an ex-pilot and knowing that I was interested in such things being a Geocacher. (please see my cache GC13VE9 a Monument to the Worlds Biggest air Tenerife) I placed a cache nearby, as Santiago told me that the occupants had died and 'out of respect' Tinerfenians would leave the actual site alone. He was wrong. The occupants survived. Please read on.

This Piper PA-28 crashed on January 25th, 2009 in a steep location in the Parque Natural de la Corona Forestal between Roque Grande and Roque de la Escalera.

On board were three 3 people in their late twenties who survived the crash due to the quick responses of the Guardia Civil and another Rescue Service who sent two Helicopters to airlift the occupants.

This is a serious Hike ! (Difficulty 4.5)

***Over the years... I have been here three times and failed a fourth time due to the landslides and the rain ***

Please .... Do Not Go Alone

Do Not Go in Rain, Snow or Cloudy Conditions

There is No Easy Way to Access this site.
